I Want This

Beyonce's ex-assistant recently wrote an article exposing details of Beyonce and Jay's relationship: ...
"During the BET Awards in 2003 I witnessed the makings of a real relationship between two overly focused individuals willing to sacrifice and make time for each other in the midst of accomplishing their personalized greatness. I was the personal assistant to Beyonce while she prepared for the debut of her new single Deja Vu. I can recall having the song on repeat throughout the duration of my flight from Chicago to LA and feeling captivated by the 808's and horns. There was something about the song that made me feel as if I were being transported to another place all in the name of love. Like most people, I soon realized that the passion hidden behind Beyonce's vocals was fueled by her devotion and love for none other than Jay Z.
I sat there in amazement as I watched Beyonce go over every step as if her life depended on it. I'd heard all thestories and rumors that she was evil and possibly the daughter of Satan but none of that surfaced. A primeexample of her down-to-earth-ness was displayed when she happened to be thirsty and it was my job to get her some water but she chose to go with me in order to ease her mind. She was sweet and reminded me of that home girl we all have that no matter what she just wants to laugh at the end of the day.
Everything was going well until Beyonce was informed that Jay Z missed his flight and wouldn't be able to make it to the show and perform. Her face went sour as she took a moment to squat on the floor and pout. She wasn't sad about him not doing his verse but the fact that she wouldn't see him as soon as she'd planned. She couldn't help but mumble to her mother that she missed him. She forced herself not to cry. Stood up and yelled from the top of her lungs.... "let's take it from the top." The passion and determination in her voice echoed throughout the empty theater as she stood on top of a short ladder that served as her entrance wagon.
Then a voice rang out saying "Hey You."
Beyonce's face lit up as she buckled her knees and covered her face to hide a child like smile followed by adorable cheeks red and wet with embarrassing tears. It was HIM. He walked in calm and cool but as he got closer he couldn't help but smile and reach out to her and hold her while placing his head gently on top of hers and shaking it. He said hi to her mom and mentioned that he wanted to fake her (Beyonce) out and say he wasn't coming just to surprise her and it worked. The two clicked instantly and started rehearsing but not before a hint of comfort was relaxed on their faces as they found solace within each others arms. After Beyonce let go and slowly removed her head from the chest of the man that inspired the lyrics to the song- she ran to her place- ready to start it all over again.
Every beat flowed effortlessly like water between the two. They stopped to acknowledge that this was their first time performing the song and even arranging choreography. The chemistry was amazing and I felt honored to have a front row seat for it all. "

1 Year Later....Haiti

Today marks the 1 year anniversary of the tragic earthquake that demolished Haiti and its people last January. Women, men, and children were killed, injured, and ALOT were left homeless. Some people could'nt even find their loved ones or friends. People were found under large sediments of rocks, and some were even buried alive. Children's hospitals collasped as well. Money, gas, food, and healthcare are very scarce right now in Haiti. I watched BET news today and saw Wyclef Jean report that over 200,000 people were still living in tents. That's such a sad and pathetic thing to hear. While most of us complain about the basics, ie: not having enough money to go out, stressing over school, and being just angry at the world for no apparent reason, some people really need help which shows myself and alot of people that we have no right to complain about anything. Those kids in Haiti would do anything for shelter, hot meal, and clothes.

Lately, I've seen young people on TV that live everyday as a struggle. Some are homeless or physically impaired. It's something about those people that inspire me and make me feel shameful about complaining. Even though alot of people struggle or don't have much, alot of them stay positive and know a brighter day will come. Note to self: Be grateful and give! I'm going to attempt to donate money or clothes to a non profit organization that works with Haiti Relief project, and hopefully more young people especially college students get involved.

The Game is Back! 1-11-11

Finally after the fans angry responses about CW who canceled this hit sitcom after 4 seasons, The Game was finally picked up by BET. I think it's very important to support black TV and BET made a great move for this one. It also means higher tv ratings for them,  because we all know BET needed some kind of comeback as well. Season 5 premiered last night and I was glued to the tv! The first episode was good, in my opinion. My predictions for this season: more secrets will soon hit the fan which means more fights and I can't wait!

P.S Also I was soooo close to working on the set of The Game assisting with wardrobe with celeb stylist Janelle Nicole. Even though that didn't work out for me, she did a great job pulling off some of the looks. Im deff going to keep watching just to support my race ;-) -Bee{Mame'}

Be On the Lookout Guys

Spring's only just around the corner, (well, that's what I tell myself to keep my cool in this New York winter) so it is the perfect time to start checking out shoes for the next season. Christian Louboutin is not just focusing on women this spring; he also has an awesome lineup for the men in his Spring/Summer 2011 Collection.

Women That Inspire kim2bee to Stay Driven

These women inspire me daily. Gwen, Angela,Vashtie, and June all have one thing in common; they grind. I only surround myself with positive folks and grinders. Their creativity, determination, and drive explains why I must make it to the top as well. They've turned their love for fashion into a business. I have no excuse. A wise man once told me stay humble, work hard, and keep praying; amen. {Bee}-Mame'

2010 Highs and Lows

Yesterday on V103, they asked listeners to call in with their highs and lows of 2010. Since my phone's battery was low, I didn't call in, but I did think of my high and low in my head.

High:
- my first trip to Guyana

Low:
- getting homesick for the very first time

Happy New Year though.
