A Little Insight

The first week of senior year was bittersweet. Demanding, yes, but it will all be over soon. In 7th period, on the first Friday of the school year, my British Literature class was having a discussion on Michael Vick, and my teacher shared a great quote with us...

The Great Hangover Tour

The Great Hangover Tour. August 2, 2009. Atlanta, Georgia. @ the Tabernacle.

The rising hip-hop group from the West Coast, Pac Div, were the first to hit the stage.

Next Was B.O.B [ Bobby Ray ].

Then Mr. Solo Dolo himself, Kid Cudi!

And last, but not least, Asher Roth.

The concert was great; Easily the best day of my 2009 summer. The tour is still taking place, but it's almost over... Catch if you can! If you like the new creativity and genuine talent that these artists bring to hip-hop, I highly suggest it!

Travis Porter. I like them. They're different,... in a good way. They're songs are already catchy, & funny at the same time, but their videos are even funnier. Now, I don't know Travis Porter, but i do know some guys in the 'Black Boy White Boy Music Video Trailer' ... Funny stuff. I'm still laughing. :D

So There's This Guy...........

Who's songs play in my head all day?? Who's voice puts me 2 sleep at night?? ....The soulful sounds of Maxwell :-)......With songs like "This Woman's Worth""Lifetime" "Pretty Wings" and "Fortunate" you're guaranteed 2 b put in a good mood.....In my opinion there's nothing sexier than a man with soul that knows what women want. Its even sexier that he's a GEMINI just like me :-)....Even though Maxwell took a long break from the music scene, he is back with a great album entitled Black Summer's Night which sold more than 300,000 copies in its first week and the numbers continue to rise. I consider him to be one of the best and most talented R&B male singers out right now.....plus he's HOTT!! ...

... So you know that I was happy to find out that he did an interview with YBF ! Here's some of it :) ...

YBF: Women love your songs, especially the YBF women. How is it that you manage to connect with them so easily?

Maxwell: Well I got a little doggy dog in me too. {laughs} I throw a bit of it in my show. But as for the music, you don’t want to put anything in music that is dated. So when you’re ready to release it, you still want it to have legs. I try to do things that are timeless. It’s not about trends, or the era, or what’s “in” at the moment.

YBF: Why the name BLACKsummer’snight for this album?

Maxwell: We wanted to maintain respect of the trilogy. So each album has its own persona. BLACKsummer’snight: This album is more of a heartbreak record–it shows the darker side of love. Addiction to another, heartbreak, those things. BlackSUMMER’Snight will be more upbeat. It’s a futuristic and gospel mix. Different. And Blacksummer’sNIGHT–that one has that soul and sexy feel. Like you put it on at night and just… handle your business. If you don’t to want have a baby, just don’t listen. {laughs}
